National Rebuilding Day
Celebrating 35 years!
Saturday
April 25, 2026
National Rebuilding Day is the visible culmination of our home repair program and takes place each year on the last Saturday in April. Teams of volunteers are mobilized to work alongside the community to repair homes and improve neighborhoods so local residents can continue to live in warmth, safety, and independence.
In 2026 we will proudly celebrate the 35th year of National Rebuilding Day, a milestone made possible by decades of committed volunteers, partners, and homeowners who have worked together to create safer and healthier homes across Chicago and Cook County.
Each year, in preparation for National Rebuilding Day, Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago recruits and trains sponsor teams, identifies and screens homeowner applicants, raises private funds for building materials, and coordinates the logistics of a volunteer effort that engages more than 1,000 people.
